Be Still My Beating Heart!

March 19, 2011

Last week, I wrote a post about BIEBER FEVER.  My daughter has the typical symptoms...posters on her wall, BOP magazine in her backpack, and a Justin Bieber t-shirt that is worn more days than not.  Let's not forget that high-pitched scream whenever one of his songs blasts over the ipod!

As much as I cringe...I do admit it was not too long ago when I too had a fever of my own.  Although I never had just ONE teen idol, there were many "boys" who caught my eye.  When I was my daughter's age...we got MTV (when they actually played music videos).  I can remember watching videos and getting a little more excited when a certain band came on....

To this day...I have been known to casually swoon when I catch a glimpse or hear a song by the lead singer of this band (remember this post?) But since I am now a grown woman and mother of two...I am so much more reserved and lady-like than when I was young...

I thought it would be fun to ask my fabulous blog readers who made their hearts swoon when they were young(er).  It was exciting to see how many of you responded.  I wanted to make some HWT pictures like I did in my post about the Doghouse (here and here), but I also wanted to make sure to link up everyone's blog with a picture of their teen heartthrob.  Since time was an issue this weekend (guinness and corned-beef)...I had to scale back my blogging! (read here)

So this is what I am asking.  As much as I would love for you to click on each and every picture to find the swooning blogger...I know that could be time consuming for some of you!  Go ahead and click on the idol(s) that tickled your fancy when you were young(er), (or click on a celeb if you are curious who swooned for that person) and leave a comment...let them know you are visiting from Hockey Wife Tales (HWT).  Hopefully some of you will find some new blogs to tickle your fancy!

READY...SET...CLICK and SWOON!

***Please let me know if any of these pictures are not linking properly...

Are you bummed your teen Heartthrob is not here?  It is not too late.  Leave me a comment and I will be sure to link your blog to your idol!

What an absolutely awesome idea! I love the way you set these up too. I forgot about this actually. I remember Disqus wouldn't let me comment, and I was going to come back... well, you know how it is. My idol, hmmmm, I was in love with Devon Sawa. I just knew if he met me, we would have been in love :) haha.

This is really brining me back. I see a lot of the ones my sister had crushes on. Me, I had a crush on Chad Allen and Peter Tork from the Monkees (60's Peter Tork, not 80's Peter Tork). I can't wait to check out more of these blogs!

This was a great post! I loved clicking around. . . I LOVE The Wonder Years. Of course it looks as if Mollie stole Fred right from under me.

PS) This new comment thing is pretty cool!

What a great post. A lot of these faces graced my walls after I cut them from my Teen Beat magazines. I'm following from the hops. I'd love a follow back. http://homeschoolblogger.com/brindamorr/

Oh man, mine is not there. I was infatuated with Don Johnson in his Miami Vice fabulousness. I had posters, okay, well a shrine really in my room to him in the seventh and eighth grade. (Yup, I am that old). I guess that was my "older man" phase. I moved on to the "robbing the cradle" phase when I met my Sweet Hubby.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas...be still my heart...

I actually think I experienced my first heartbreak in the 6th grade when I realized I was already significantly taller than him...

What ever happened to him?
