Tales from a YMCA locker room...

March 23, 2011

Everything I need to know about aging, I can learn in the YMCA locker room!!!
1. I have learned...Our butts will begin to fall.  There is no doubt that at some point ALL butts will sag by the age of 75. No matter what body type you may have now...your butt will not stay firm forever.

2. I have learned...At some point, we will all give in and wear full-coverage underpants to cover our sagging behinds. No matter how small your underpants are today...there will come a day when you opt for comfort over design! (remember this post?)

3. I have learned about...BREASTS!  I have seen every shape and size. Even after two kids, I can appreciate my 35 year old breasts, as I know there will come a time when I will look back fondly on their (somewhat) perky shape and the pretty, lace bras I carried them in.

4. I have learned...to rejoice!!! At some point in our lives, we will no longer have the stamina (but will still have the need) to trim our "down-there" hair. Maybe as we age and the hair-down-there turns grey...it is not as visible as it was when we were younger? Maybe the swimsuits we choose in our older age are not as "high-cut" exposing those pesky stray hairs? Or just maybe...as you become older...you just don't give a crap about what is hanging out and who actually sees it!!!
(this video is safe for work!)

SUMMARY:

I have learned that all these things put together (sagging butt, drooping boobs, and peek-a-boo hair) will not stop you from walking around completely naked while chatting about your cute grandchildren with your locker room neighbor!

And who says women locker rooms aren't as educational nor entertaining than the men's! Loving this whole post, but secretly am praying to god almighty that after so many years of waxing growth just freezes. Fingers crossed!

I can't believe I wasn't following you already! This is funny because it's true!!! What is it about the Y in particular that women just let it all hang out? (not me of course...) That video is awesome; I love the lady whose friend translates "It'll hurt like hell" to "It won't hurt at all". Hahaha!!

I don't know. I think I left my self-esteem in the locker room the very first time I saw the grouping of college girls walking nekkid on their way to the shower. As I was wrapping myself in a towel discreetly, hoping nobody would get a flash of my roll(s).

And, I've NEVER had the stamina, or gumption, or whathaveyou to let anyone enter my chastity belt area with the intention to rip out anything. Although, I did have an awkward moment with a nurse and an electric razor once.

First...those poor college girls with tight tushes and perky breasts...they'll get what's coming to them in fifteen years!

Electric razor? Do I sense a blog post? hahaha!

I always say..."the best part of the muffin is...the muffin top!"

Cheers!

I do not have to worry about sagging boobs not do I have to worry about pesky hairs. When the butt starts to droop, I will have that fixed as well. I watched a bio on Dolly Parton and she said something like "If it sags, bags, or drags, I get it nipped, tucked, or sucked." Sounds like a good plan to me!

I have informed my husband, that while I am not big on plastic surgery, if my breast had down to my belly button I will have them lifted back up.

As for the waxing, after I had my first child I could no longer find the time to get my who-ha waxed. It was not high on my list of things I needed to get done. Then I read an article in Cookie (a modern-mama magazine) and it referred to "mom bush". Oh He** no! No time to wax I will shave but I will not have "mom bush".

haha, so cute! I think you are completly right. We should probably not care earlier in life, but the thoughts of that happening and getting old sucks! Have a great week! ♥ BJ

I seriously don't go to the gym specifically because of the naked, old, grizzy grey haired women. They scare me! Please put some clothes on before talking to me please! I loved the video. I myself have never had a wax. Tried myself and am too much of a wimp. You remember my waxing nightmare!

hahahahaha! Aging scares the crap out of me. This was hilarious. I'm pretty sure all of the above mentioned problems could be solved with plastic surgery and laser hair treatments. Or so i'm going to tell myself.

Just recently started following your blog and love it. Two things...boob lifts are for everyone, and this video by Glozell really gets to the whole crux of waxing, eyebrows and armpits specifically!

My boobs are 39 (even though I'm only thirty...don't know how the hell that happened), but they're still freaking awesome. So you have at least 4 more years of smoking hot rackdom.

Well aren't you just the little blue bird of happiness this morning. I read you post and found myself nodding along. I never had nice perky boobs. I guess I can't miss what I never had. *lol* Thanks for the chuckle.

Locker room nudity doesn't bother me in general. I'm 36 years old, and from the days of mandatory group showers in middle school and high school after gym class. So I've been seen naked hundreds and hundreds of times in locker rooms, and seen countless other females naked in locker rooms.

The thing is that the gym that I workout at is at a university, so the locker room is filled with mostly college aged women, and I can't help but feel a little jealous of how hot most of them look in the buff. I probably just made myself sound like a lesbian, which I'm NOT. But to be honest, many of them have such impressive bodies that I can't help but notice. I'm not in bad shape. But I can't help but be jealous of a lot of the colle

I somehow cut off the end of my original post. Sorry about that!

I was starting to say that I can't help but feel jealous of some of the college girls bodies.
