In the doghouse....

March 11, 2011

Do you ever wonder where the term In the Doghouse came from?

At some point in a relationship...a man will do something that will warrant a trip to the doghouse.  It doesn't have to be a BIG thing, it can be something quite small!  A missed birthday, a forgotten phone call, a comment about facial hair...

The doghouse is not selective.  It can accommodate anyone...rich or poor, fat or thin, well-known or unknown!  In fact, many celebrities, Presidents, and athletes have been known to reside in the doghouse...

Fortunately, my husband is not a common guest of the Chateau Chenil!  But he definitely has a few membership reward points racked up!

example:  My husband and I had dated for almost two years.  We were driving to my mother's house for Easter Dinner, and he turned to me and said "What is your mother's name?" (100 reward points)!

I want to hear your stories...Has your husband ever been in the doghouse?
Email me hockeywifetales(at)gmail(dot)com. I will cut and paste your story and add a great picture (a la Hockey Wife Tales creativity).   I will post them on my Sunday post! I will be linking to your blog, so this will be a fun way to get a few new people to see your site!

**I don't want it to seem as though ONLY MEN are sent to the doghouse....so if I have any male readers who want to tell a story about their spouse being in the doghouse...we would love to hear it!

For now I will leave you with these two videos...

Haha, well, I gotta give it to him that he honestly asked! I will have to do some thinking about this whole dog house thing. I am sure there is a time or two he has been huddled in there, haha

Hey...I never heard, how are you liking this new comment system???

My hubs isn't in the doghouse too, too much...but enough. He is a little tiny bit absent minded of things concerning ME. I've spoiled him a little so he kind of expects that I'll just DO EVERYTHING...which can get old.

I like the ability to comment back. I like the layout of it.

I don't like the fact that I still don't get email confirmation, and have to go to the disqus site to get my comments. I feel like I am not getting as many comments as usual, but I might just be paranoid.

How is it to leave a comment?

Thank you for dropping by!

Cheers!

Hi, new follower from Social Parade. I love this post! I few years ago my husband calls me from work. He is supper excited and says, "Babe, I have a surprise for you! Your gonna love it!" I spent the whole day wondering what his surprise was. It's not like him to get me a surprise. He gets home that afternoon and runs inside the house, grabs my hand and drags me outside. "You ready?" he says and then points at his truck. "What?" I say. His response? "I put a new light kit on my truck! Do you like it?" Definitely a dog house moment!!!! I Can't wait to read more of your blog.

If I have time tomorrow, I'll email you a story or two. My husband has spent more time IN the dog house than OUT. ;)

I love the "credit card" with dog house. What a fun graphic. I will need to think about this. Yes, he has been in the dog house. Its just a matter of picking which one I want to share. Its hard to narrow them down.
